I enjoy reading a man named Larry Winget. Initially I thought of him as a Texas Redneck, however he's anything but that. He's very Zen in how he writes but crouches it in a Texas style which gets rednecks reading him. Very clever. Here's his wisdom about religion which I find very appealing:
"Find a religion that ask only that you LOVE YOUR FELLOW MAN (his upper case emphasis). Find one that cause you to stop judging others and teaches you to help others. When you do, I bet it won't have the words "First" or "Southern" in its name."
Winget and the Dalai Lama have identical views on religion. The Dalai Lama says:
"This is my simple religion. There is no need for complicated philosophies not even for temples. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple. The philosophy is kindness."
